The Elder Scrolls Online content patches already in the works, Bethesda confirms

The Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda have revealed that Craglorn, the first major content patch for The Elder Scrolls Online, will be released by the end of the month. As reported by Videogamer, the patch will have a new storyline and a new “Adventure” zone, as well as 4 and brand new 12-player trials to enjoy.

In a press release, TESO creative director Paul Sage said the in-game world is going to be affected by the comings of creatures (not classes) called Celestials. “The constellations are missing from the sky and you’re going to hear rumour of these beings called Celestials, and they are the Warrior, the Mage, the Serpent and the Thief, and how they’re impacting Craglorn and what’s going on is going to be what your group discovers,” he said.

That’s the answer to a quest, by the way. I’m not telling you which one, though.

There’s a new trailer showing off the adventure zones as well, which you can view below. It’s a good outline of everything that’s to come, so if you’re a TESO fan, definitely check it out.

So… working on new content, instead of fixing bad progressing blocking bugs yet?

Reddit is going nuts:

edit: this is also sobering:

Zenimax showing their inexperience with this one.

My biggest problem is the game feels like it has no impact at all. And I miss auto attack … so sick of left clicking … it’s like an incredibly slow paced diablo >.>

…People still play this?…

Well i for one am having a blast with the game, its true the game opens up past level 10 – currently level 20 and can see the amount of work they put in the quests and world

Yes bugged quests is an issue – i have maybe experienced 5 so far

the Crafting is probably the best ive seen in an MMO

Grouping needs work, but the game is best played Solo during the leveling phase

I havent touched PvP yet (which alot of people love) – comparing it to DAoC days

Its a great MMO, and one of the few good ones in recent times

Also some of the complaints in that reddit thread are laughable

“The FOV is locked at a sickeningly low amount that even I get nauseated and I have never ever gotten nauseated in a First-person game in my entire life”

- the game was designed in 3rd person, 1st person was only included later once the community requested it” – the game is best played in 3rd person like a normal MMO – the option is still nice

“Bank space and inventory management are completely and utterly a nightmare. There’s more items than there is room and even the most stringent of players will find themselves discarding the most precious of items to make room for what is needed”

Your personal bags and bank space can be upgraded with gold – every MMO will fill your bags up quickly if you pick up every peice of trash mobs drop – do they expect you never to have to return to town to manage inventory

The Bugs are mostly fixed – i have experienced bugged quests, but nothing like falling through the world, or anything game breaking – to be honest for how the game looks, it performs very well on normal hardware

Upgrading armor “tiers” is completely RNG

Yes, but if you place more of the crafting material you can get the chance % up to almost 100% which negates the RNG – this is fair

you either risk using less materials (fail chance) – or more materials for a successful one

Sphinx2000,

Please dont be blind by reading what you want to hear. Read the gilded comment in response to the one you posted for a list of positive things about ESO. Quite frequently in the ESO subreddit there are players posting that they’re been wrong and disappointed in themselves for following the bandwagon by hating the game without even playing it. Its improved considerably since beta and is quite enjoyable to play.

Cool thanks for that.

Any comment re the video re pugs stealing chests / trolling from dungeons and no loot roll?

There’s no need for loot rolls, everyone gets his own loot. So instead of rolling for stuff you can compare and trade.

I’m enjoying it a lot too. Spooler, maybe you should try a different class. I’m currently playing a nightblade with a 2h sword and there’s not much clicking involved there.
My attacks may be a bit slow in comparison but they sure pack some punch and can be combined pretty well.

Usually goes like this:
1. Sneak
2. Teleport to enemy from behind and strike (short stun and +30% damage for my next hit)
3. Heavy uppercut attack that throws enemy back 4 meters and stuns him again (very slow attack but due to the stun from the first strike, this is no problem)
4. 1-2 normal attacks
5. Finisher skill (does +300% damage when enemy is on low health and heals me for 15% if the enemy dies from that skill)

Oh and yes, the game is designed for third person, but they did add firstperson too, so they could aswell do it right and include that FOV slider.
Playing in first person (atleast when you’re solo in PvE) is great fun.

it’s not a matter of damage dealt it’s how the animations and more importantly sounds reflect my actions … The Bow is the worst of the worst watching it get drawn back (_____) < that far and then magically it deals damage is pretty dammed stupid.

I do similar sneaky shit, but with a bow thrown in at the start :D So much fun combining ranged stuff with some finishing moves to take down targets super quickly ^_^

I’d love to know how people stay entertained by all the samey samey crap that passes for MMORPGs these days.

This, ToR, neverwitner, guildwars2, all just mind-numbingly boring.I’m sure EQNext is the same way, not that I’ll know with this awesome 3 stage loop of win any time I try to log into my soe account http://i.imgur.com/RpAnKRY.jpg

but when I played ESO it was just so boring, same gameplay, but more “Accessible” [we all know what thats code for, right?] as EQ1.
I liked EQ1 …..from 2001 to 2003, but 10 years later we should have something better.

Very much enjoying this. I find the quests quite engaging and have only come across 3 bugged quests of which 1 was fixed already. Just don’t skip all the voiced dialogue, you aren’t going to be very engaged if you don’t know whats going on. I think it’s been a smooth launch overall which is a feat.

The disappointed always cry loudest, the ones having fun are busy playing the game.

I would be interested to know how iinet/internode users have found the playability of ESO. I’m having major lag issues on my current ISP which seems to be an issue with more than one ISP internationally, where some will categorise ESO as torrent transfers and shape packet transfer. I’m wanting to change ISPs because of this, so wanting to make sure this is not an issue on iiNet! Would be especially interested to hear from anyone on the Sunshine Coast in Qld which I think is a problem area for internet in general.
