Minecraft parodied in the Simpsons introduction, Notch geeks out a little

minecraft simpsons parody

I suppose this is the ultimate sign of having made it, being mocked by the Simpsons. That’s how Markus “Notch” Persson feels at least, after one of the legendary stalwarts of pop culture decided to parody the developer’s block-building simulator in their introduction. You can watch the full thing below.

Understandably, Persson was in a small amount of shock, writing on Twitter that he wasn’t “sure how I feel about it”. He later added: “I STILL feel a bit like it’s just this small game I made at home. It’s so weird to have all these things happen.”

Where to next for Minecraft and Notch, one wonders. Saturday Night Live? Jimmy Kimmel?

Simpsons is still on air?

stoibs,

Nah they axed a show that’s still watched by millions of people.

Note to the editor: Notch has already appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, who is by all means funnier than Jimmy Kimmel.

Is that the guy with the stupid skeleton?

That was beautiful.

“I downloaded this show very legally” I lost it.

Don’t you know it!

Geoff Peterson is not stupid, that’s outrageous!

I despise that skeleton and his failed transdental electromacide procedure!

Axed? The creators should have ended it out of good taste before it jumped the shark, around the same time Seinfeld did (despite offers of $5 million per episode).

They’re now at the point of parodying Minecraft for christ’s sake.

The Simpsons is probably the only program keeping fox afloat. :P

Anyone else notice the 3 eye’d crow from game of thrones at the start of the vid?

Firefly was cancelled, anything is possible.

trb,

Which people think was a mistake, so that just supports the idea that Simpsons shouldn’t be axed.

Comments like “People still play this?” or “People still watch this?” are some of the dumbest comments you see. Seriously.

They must sound dumb if you have no sense of humour and take everything totally literally, yeah.

caitsith01,

Or the flip side is, it was funny years ago when people first made the “joke” and now it’e entirely overdone, and not funny anymore.

makena,

Most annoying comments anyway.
