Uncharted 4 game director jumps ship for Riot Games

League of Legends

Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond has left Naughty Dog, a Sony-owned and exclusive developer, for the wonderful world of PC gaming.

Richmond has accepted a position at league of Legends developer Riot Games, and seems pretty excited about the jump from cinematic third-person console shooters to free-to-play and massively successful MOBAs.

“After careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of,” he told IGN.

I’m sure we wish Richmond all the best for his new role as servant of the master race. He had served with Naughty Dog since 2008, and his departure closely follows that of chief Uncharted creative Amy Hennig.

“Their loss, our gain.” Considering the quality of the Uncharted games I think it is a net loss to gaming, unfortunately…
