I thought it was pretty good when I played properly during the last beta weekend. It plays and feels exactly like previous Elder Scrolls games and as far as I can tell, you can do the majority of the content solo anyway. I’m a little disappointed about the $15 sub fee though, but after calculating how much I’d spent on Gems in GW2 since release, I can actually completely justify it.

I haven’t played a melee character yet, but apparently with Aus ping blocking attacks becomes really hard. I’ll see this for myself though this weekend.

You mean aside from the:
See that horse there, $6000 no you cant steal it

See that shop with all the nice equipment laid out?
No you cant paralyze the guard with a arrow and take the stuff”

What do you mean you want to massacre an entire village because you are bored, cant do that.

Good points. I guess I’ve got no counter arguments for that apart from the fact that its an mmo and not a singlepleyer game. It wouldn’t really be fun for anyone if everyone could do things like that, I mean, the cities would be ghost towns and the playerbase would be vile as people would be rewarded for being assholes.

What I meant by “It plays and feels exactly like previous Elder Scrolls games”:
– combat is fluid and dynamic and most importantly, fun
– exploring the land and stumbling on caves is still amazing (im always curious as to whats inside!)
– questing is the same
– Crafting and enchanting is more complex (alchemy remains the same)
– Skills now have active abilities on top of the passive abilities that were in previous TES games.

I think of ESO as a normal TES game but with other players running around. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played of it!

helelix,

Fair points, for me TES will always be a single player game where when I get bored I can spend an hour playing an intricate way to assassinate some random townfolk and escape without being seen.

Doesn’t really gel with an MMO.
