One of the promised stretch goals for Star Citizen at $12 million was of course Oculus Rift support, and — as the game blasts its way towards $40 million — they’ve now delivered on the alpha of that promise.

“Oculus owners can now get a first look at their ship collections using the 3D headset,” says the release. “Be sure to let us know what you think! This is a pre-alpha release. There are a number of known issues regarding the Rift support; a complete list is available in the patch notes.”

Meanwhile, we’re giving away six Star Citizen packages, including stuff you can’t buy in the store! Enter here for your chance to win.

Can’t wait to give this a crack tonight

lets hope it works well – other titles which claimed alpha rift support have been awful so far (assetto corsa), yet some titles nail it (lunar flight)

v4moose,

They did say their implementation had latency issues. They plan to fix it, but yeah.. they admit to many issues with it atm.
