It seems like things are going well for Garry Newman of Garry’s Mod fame, as both his titular mod and the new creation Rust have pulled in over $30 million in sales through Steam.

“Garry’s Mod has just broke $30,000,000,” tweeted Newman over the weekend. “And if my calculations are correct – we have now officially made more money from Rust than Garry’s Mod,” he added. “0.34% more!”

“See news sites speculating about How much Rust has made. To clear it up, we get less royalties from GMod than Rust,” Garry added later. “In Rust we get 70%. In GMod we get 50% or $2.50 if it’s part of a package.”

In conclusion, I suddenly feel very poor.

On an even better note I hear the Rust is going to lose the whole zombie aspect? if so praise the heavens! So sick of the this oversaturated and increasingly non-inventive genre.

Zombies have already been removed, replaced with placeholder red animals, until the new mutants get added.

Damn son.

Nice. Congrats on his hard work paying off.

Now if he just felt like adopting someone, I could be the brother he never knew he wanted. :o
