Rust and Garry’s Mod have each made over $30 million

It seems like things are going well for Garry Newman of Garry’s Mod fame, as both his titular mod and the new creation Rust have pulled in over $30 million in sales through Steam.

“Garry’s Mod has just broke $30,000,000,” tweeted Newman over the weekend. “And if my calculations are correct – we have now officially made more money from Rust than Garry’s Mod,” he added. “0.34% more!”

“See news sites speculating about How much Rust has made. To clear it up, we get less royalties from GMod than Rust,” Garry added later. “In Rust we get 70%. In GMod we get 50% or $2.50 if it’s part of a package.”

In conclusion, I suddenly feel very poor.

On an even better note I hear the Rust is going to lose the whole zombie aspect? if so praise the heavens! So sick of the this oversaturated and increasingly non-inventive genre.

 

Zombies have already been removed, replaced with placeholder red animals, until the new mutants get added.
