Hitman game not cancelled after all: Square Enix says I/O still working on new title

By on January 8, 2014 at 2:07 pm

Turns out yesterday’s reports that the next Hitman game had been canned were greatly exaggerated, at least according to a Square Enix spokesperson.

“There’s a bit of confusion around the Hitman projects currently in development at Square Enix owned studios and so we wanted to take the time to clarify what each studio is working on to clear up some of this confusion,” reads a statement released to Eurogamer.

“IO Interactive is developing a new, AAA Hitman game that will be coming to PC and next-gen consoles.”

Square Enix didn’t deny that they were working on a Hitman game for Android or iOS, of course, and indeed why would they?

Really? Damn, I didn’t see it. I was reading through the posts to see if anyone picked it up cause it wasn’t all bad news.

My bad if I didn’t see it.

All good!

Phew… False alarm…

Although that still means they’re building one for phones…

Oh well… Hopefully it’ll be more about 47′s work, and not his character…

Bit early to be working on a title for next-gen consoles isn’t it? :p

I only know of current-gen, and previous-gen!
