Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Quick Look – Naval Gameplay Video

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

By on January 14, 2014 at 2:33 pm

Want to see what life on the waves is like for a pirate-turned-assassin? We continue our series of quick look videos with some footage cut from the various types of high-seas adventure you’ll get up to in Black Flag — sailing, swimming, hunting, swimming some more, sailing again. It’s all very exciting.

Recorded here on a GTX 670 with everything pushed (almost) all the way up, Black Flag is a beautiful game. Check over here for a quick look at the opening scenes from the game and some on-land action.

Great video, needs more sea shanties [Favourite was the Sally Brown one] and views.

I really loved the hunting sharks and whales

Also a tip for anyone who picked it up recently.

If you are low level but want to take down a Man O War, Get close to them without engaging and then jump off your ship and climb up there’s,

Kill everyone and then you just need to hit the ship once with broadside and you can board.

This game would have been perfect if they removed all that assassin's creed nonsense and just let me live upon the seas.

I hated it from a game-play perspective and from the perspective that it’s a horrible way to kill something… That and whales are fantastic

spooler,

I loved the game play of it also I can separate something being real and something being just a digital representation.

I am certainly not going to be jumping on any Japanese Research vessels any time soon but I enjoyed the mini game.

even better when you get a wanted level of 4 and the highest level man 0 wars start spawning to hunt you, let it get about 300m in range of you (DO NOT AGGRO IT BY ATTACKING IT) then let go of the wheel, the man o war drops anchor and you can swim up to it board it kill all the crew, swim back to your ship, grab the wheel and attack it once to prompt the boarding action, rince and repeat till you have massive amounts of mats for upgrades and a full fleet of the most powerful capturable ships in the game.

That wasn’t what I was trying to say, real or not it made me uncomfortable. That was my entire point, not that it’s going to encourage people to go whaling.

spooler,

I know exactly what you mean, actually. Funnily enough, I started from Silence’s POV where I was like, “It’s only a video game!” but then I thought that if it was something else, you know, violence against women or rape or hate crimes, I wouldn’t be comfortable with doing that just because it is a video game.

Yeah, it wasn’t nice but at least they made it a not entirely required part of the game so you could avoid it if you wished.
