Arma 3 teases mysterious new multiplayer content coming in February

As noted by PC Gamer, Bohemia relased a new SITREP for Arma 3 last week, and along with some of the recent updates on the path to Adapt, they also teased a new multiplayer announcement set to hit in February.

A spectacular new HDAO post-process effect has been created for Arma 3 players running DirectX 11, not only making things prettier but also offering a performance boost (depending on your system of course). Multiplayer optimisation has progressed quite a bit, thankfully, with significant performance boosts and better load spread over CPU cores.

You can check out the full SITREP for more details on recent updates, but enough with the teasing, what’s this multiplayer secret already? The only info we have is this tweet by Bohemia’s Karel Mořický showing a devastating lightning bolt striking a vehicle in the distance. The UI changes are obvious, but what else are we looking at? I don’t want to wait until February to find out, but it looks like we’ll have to.

I’d give anything for the next chapter of the main campaign!

altis life keeps me occupied!!!

Murray Hibble,

Already available in development branch. Release tomorrow night.

Looks like some sort of capture & hold or frontline mode.

I don’t really care about that multiplayer mode anyway, all the good modes that we want can be made by the community anyway (if they don’t exist already).

Performance improvements sound great though.
