Ubisoft considering future Assassin’s Creed games where you play as Templars

Assassin's Creed

An enormous survey sent out to players of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag by Ubisoft shows that the company are seeking feedback on almost every single, tiny aspect of their latest creation — but also considering some radical departures for the future.

Some of the questions regarding future games center around asking players questions such as “Would you play as a Templar?” and “How interested are you in a new present day hero character?”. They’re also keen on knowing whether you’d like to have drop-in, drop-out co-op, the ability to customise your own assassin, or to share your hideout with your friends.

The survey is quite long and I won’t reprint it here, so head over and read it on Kotaku AU, why don’t you.

It’d be nice to play as a Templar. They get a pretty bad rap, over all.

I’ve always thought that if given the choice, I’d side with Templars every time.

Why not create the option of joining either side instead of rail roading in either or? That way you get more playability out of a game by having two distinct paths to follow.

If a question has ‘customise’, ‘social’ or ‘share’ in it then I would say no!

Customise I’d be up for, but they’d have to make it in depth not just one or two hoods :D

As for Templars cool, the different storylines should reflect the personalities of the people behind the plans and designs. Some will be altruistic from both factions, others will not…

Drop-in/Drop-out would also be cool, as long as they take control of logical companions or join/vs you in missions/quests for the storyline. If they take AC to the next level and give it a proper open world with a living basis beneath it (currently it’s all window dressing for the player) then even better and it would suit the DI/DO mechanic even better.
