Wasteland 2 beta is “almost there”, Wasteland re-release submitted to Steam

Good news for Wasteland fans, old and new. It looks like the Kickstarter-powered Wasteland 2 is going to be in the hands of those of you who paid for beta access very shortly, with a Kickstarter update assuring backers that “the Early Beta is not quite ready yet, but we are almost there”.

“We’ve received countless messages from backers telling us not to release the game until it’s ready. (…) We’re working hard to get it there, but it does need a bit more love, and we’d rather get it right than rush it to you.”

The re-release of the original Wasteland has now been submitted for approval on GOG.com and Steam, which means it should — fingers crossed — hopefully be available soon on those platforms. Everyone who pledged for Wasteland 2 will get a copy of the re-release for free when it’s ready.

Wasteland 1 keys are already being sent out, been playing mine on Steam already =)

Any good?

Well, it’s Wasteland with a dab of fresh paint in the HD art and narration at some points. If you’re a fan of those old school ‘Ultima’ style games then sure ;)
