Raindrop is an atmospheric survival horror/puzzle game, and it wants your Kickstarter dollars

Raindrop

A few people last week have sent us a link to Raindrop, an intriguing-looking survival horror/puzzle game which has popped up on Kickstarter.

Asking for $144,000, it’s currently sitting at $36,240 with 13 days to go, which means things are looking kind of dicey. Gameplay footage of Raindrop so far shows a game looking rather delicious, with a huge focus on sprawling urban decay.

The developers are playing it coy around the actual storyline of Raindrop, but it’s clear there’s some sort of post-apocalyptic element and they’re promising a deep and gritty horror story to engage with, so we’ll see.

In any case, take a look at the video below and head along to the Kickstarter page to see what you think.

Between failed projects like U55: End of the Line, Shades of Sanity, Shadows of the Eternals and others that only barely made the Goal like Neverending Nightmares, Among the Sleep, Asylum and Dreadout; Horror games never really seem to do too well in crowd-funding for some unknown reason.

A pity and a shame. Backed this one day one, looked interesting.
The way it’s going it’ll likely be another failed project in my profile list. =(

Cool dudes, cool video, ??? game.

They’re trying to get funding for a game in an already saturated market of it’s type.
From what’s shown, the game does look good, but we’ve already seen many games like this recently.
Some should make a zombie RTS from the other perspective, where the player controls a Zombie horde that tries to take over humanity.

stoibs,

That looks pretty cool, doesn’t look like it’s anywhere near making it though…

I’d personally be more interested in something done on a larger scale where you control a horde of about 100+ zombies. Kinda like the scenes from World War Z with massive zombie mobs over running human colonies/cities.

If only I had the skillz to make games…. :(
