Where are my 4X fans at? Along with celebrating their 20th birthday, Stardock yesterday announced their next game – Galactic Civilizations 3. Stardock outlined the plans for the upcoming game in a post on the official forums, where they explained that Galactic Civilizations 3 would finally allow you to play competitively or co-operatively with friends on the internet.
The new game will also feature fancy new diplomacy and a redesigned ship builder, along with a significant increase in visual spectacularness. Interestingly, due to the scope and size of Galactic Civilizations 3 and Stardock’s plans for the game, those wishing to play it will need to have a 64-bit operating system and a video card capable of at least DirectX 10.
If you are super pumped for GalCiv3 you can pre-purchase the game right now from the official store. $39 USD will get you a forum badge, beta access once the beta begins and $10 off the price at launch. Super dooper pumped people can go for broke and grab the Founder’s Elite Edition – for $99 USD it gives you a forum badge, alpha access, all DLC and expansions that will be released for the game and the opportunity to name a star. You can check out the trailer for Galactic Civilizations 3 embedded below.
