Assassin’s Creed 4 available to pre-order on Steam, delayed in Australia by two days

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

The Steam pre-order page for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has gone live, revealing an unwelcome surprise: Australian PC gamers have to wait two days for their game to unlock.

As we reported last week, Ubisoft set November 19 as the PC release date.

However, the Steam pre-order page, backed up by EB Games, suggests that a November 21 release date is more accurate.

So there you go.

Something, something unfair…*grumble* economy…*mutter* *mutter* price gouging…pirating etc.

Russacky,

Comment about entitlement, PC Master race, 1st world problems etc.

It’s ok folks, we’ve covered all of the bases, we can go home now.

vcatkiller,

Russacky,

Phew, you guys saved me a lot of time.

Picked this up yesterday on steam. I so hope this game is better that AC3.

vcatkiller,

You forgot DRM and EA!

WHAT? Why didn’t you buy a Steam key on GMG for half the price?!?!?

ralphwiggum,

Oops my bad, that was close. I’d also add something about console ports and casual gamers there somewhere too for bonus points now I think of it.

If you have a look at the EB listings, you will see the Wii U is also set for 22 Nov, but the Ubi blog said it would be out the same day as 360 and PS3 editions’… so I don’t know whats going on there.

Why do you want it on STEAM? Uplay is on it too, so why bother having 2 DRM’s for the price of one? ….

Meh… im fairly sure my copy is being posted to me on Nov14…so add a week to that to reach me.

Oh I forgot it was Uplay. But what I meant was why pay $90USD instead of $50USD from ANY other digital retailer (eg Amazon)

Can any answer to this question be the correct one in your eyes. Is an answer going to help you sleep well tonight? Why am I not doing what you are doing? Is your way the correct way of doing things? Is there a correct way to buy a digital game that I am not aware of? Have I done something wrong? These are all valid questions. I don’t want a answer to them.

I don’t care about the DRM, queue your rage and disappointment I guess based on your statement.

And Why do I want it on Steam? Insert any answer that helps you get over the fact that you asked the question in the first place.

I am just not interested in talking about opinions on DRM. So yeah. I didn’t mean for that to come across the wrong way or in a harsh manner. I just hate the topic of DRM and I am not interested in added to it.

kablekill,

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care one way or another how you buy it, really. I can’t see him flying into a rage or being disappointed because you bought your copy on *GASP* Steam.

vcatkiller,
Just getting in before this turns into a keyboard warrior fight about DRM being good and/or bad or what ever your opinion is on the topic.

Na mate. I just find it funny how people go on about how bad Uplay and Origin is when STEAM is worse in some ways, and its also the reason the other 2 exist. Its just funny.

Delayed by two days? Isn’t that GOOD news? Traditionally our releases are delayed by three days, Tuesday release in the US versus a Friday release here.

We should be celebrating!

Infer tone as you see fit ….

I agree! It is funny to watch people go into bat for one type of Online Service/System then the other.

lol pretty much, uplay isn’t that annoying. Im glad i didn’t experience the issues on AC2 launch, played it lately with all its drm goodness and it was fine :D

Oh uplay how I hate thee…

How you break my Anno2070 any time you see fit, and now won’t activate even though it’s been activated on this install before…

But that’s irrelevant, I think this topic’s about an Ass that got delayed…
