Xbox One launch date locked in for November 22 in Australia, Bathurst coming to Forza 5

Forza 5

Although we are all about the PC here at games.on.net, it’s important to know what else is going on in the world — and you’ll probably be interested to know that the Xbox One now has a launch date of November 22 here in Australia.

The launch covers 13 territories, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. Countries outside of this list are expected to (maybe) be able to play it sometime in 2014

Microsoft also used the announcement to confirm a 10% increase in CPU performance, on top of the 6% increase in GPU performance we discussed in last Friday’s Tech News Roundup.

In more Xbox One related news, Forza Motorsport 5 is confirmed to feature the iconic Australian racing track of Bathurst for the first time, alongside two V8 Supercars.

“For years Australians have been asking us to include the Bathurst track into the Forza Motorsport games,” said Microsoft’s Alan Bowman. “We have taken notice.”

Now, is there any word about which game is going to be included with the console? UK release will have Forza 5…

I thought Europe got Fifa 2104 with console pre-orders, and that has now been extended to Australia as well. Oh and that’s digital copy.

UK is not Europe ;)

Not sure if it’s a difference between “Day One” Xbone’s or not… AllGamesBeta had the story about the Forza 5 digital download… they are usually right.

As a person who does not like the sport, FIFA is a terrible choice… Dead Rising would have been FAR better.

Still undecided about which console to get… I really want an Xbone for Halo(5) etc, but I really want a PS4 for Metal Gear….sigh, first world problems.

EDIT: And I’ve just realised that MGPP is coming to Xbone… kind of answers that question for me…Killzone was the other one I was interested in. To many consoles/games and not enough money! ><

Why not both? *queue Mexican music and spontaneous cheering*

LOL. Yeah, it’s get consoles or get new motorbike at this point… I choose bike.

W00t forza :D

If you have a one or the other choice ever, Just simply flip a coin, at that moment you will know what one you want more.

As far as I know UK is considered part of Europe, and is also a member of the EU (European Union).
But that was not what I meant anyway, I was just saying that I thought Europe got FIFA and we got the same (we often get lumped in with them like PSN Plus titles etc).
Like you I would much rather Forza than FIFA, but I am stilling thinking of going Sony if I get a next gen console.

I understood what you were saying. :) I’m just going off my more “traditional” Pommie mates. :)

But yes, I did originally hear that Xbone’s EU/GB launch would be FIFA, to spring this now is probably an attempt at launching at no extra cost with an exclusive title, which obviously makes heaps more sense.

I think it’s better than FIFA, but still not as good as Dead Rising, given the popularity of the zombie theme. However, Forza is still a good choice.
