Or as I like to call it: 2 REAL 2 PROJECTY

I am sure you do not need me to introduce you to the Project Reality mods – it’s hard to be a PC gamer without having heard of them. Developed for Battlefield 2 and Arma 2, the Project Reality mods attempt to add more realism to the multiplayer FPS experience. And now instead of modding already existing games, the Project Reality developers have announced their new project – Project Reality 2 – a full fledged stand alone game built in Crytek’s CryEngine 3.
As explained on the Project Reality site, the aim of Project Reality 2 is to deliver the same team based tactical combat found in the mods, without the various issues that come from working off someone else’s base. PR2 has been in development since mid 2012, and an internal Alpha build is expected to be complete within the next two months.
The developers plan on releasing an alpha to the public as soon as is plausible, and then updating and adding more features as it goes. For this reason they don’t feel comfortable charging for the game – although I’m sure they’d appreciate donations. If you’d like to learn more about the game you can read the FAQ or check out the aforementioned announcement for pictures of the work in progress.
