Information deliberately kept quiet.

Arkane Studios is confirmed to be working on a reboot of Prey 2, according to leaked emails obtained by Kotaku overnight.
The rumour was first started back in June, but was never officially confirmed by Bethesda, Arkane, or anybody. Now it seems that the lack of official confirmation may have been deliberate, with both the studio and publisher trying to keep the information quiet.
“Austin (referring to Arkane Austin, as opposed to Arkane Lyon, the French studio working on a sequel to Dishonored) has officially been green lit for its own project!” reads the email from Raphael Colantonio. “After going back and forth with Todd, Harvey, Ricardo, we decided that Prey 2 presented an interesting opportunity if we could reboot it.”
“Zenimax accepted our pitch which was ‘the spiritual successor to System Shock 3′.”
After the news was leaked, Colantonio followed up with another company-wide email instructing everyone not to speak to the press.
“Now that the news is out, we’ll be contacted left and right by press sneak fucks who will want to know more. Please don’t answer to any of their requests.”
So there you go. Bethesda has, of course, issued a flat ‘no comment’ on this latest development, which would make sense given the bad blood that has sprung up between them and Human Head Studios over the current (non-Arkane) version of Prey 2 (read the details here).
If Arkane really are working on Prey 2, it would bear out a lot of the theories regarding the Human Head controversies.
