missed a ton of secrets the most important tho was the retro level scret entrence you missed at 4:04-4:06 thar be a switch in that room.

But more importantly, I’m disappointing you’re not playing as Mr. Ian Paul Freely. *shakes head*

I should point out Alex deliberately avoided recording secret rooms because of spoilers!

Great watch, if I didn’t already own it I’d be very tempted now.

As a Quake purist will I still enjoy this? I’m looking for something a bit mindless to play when I’m too tired for Quake Live.

I’ve heard people say the movement isn’t great, but is it really a big deal?

Looks delightfully uninspiring.

f4tal3rror,

It’s really not a game you buy for the aesthetic, if you’re there, you’re there for the gameplay. I’ll admit that’s a poor excuse for the game looking uninspiring, but really, they’re only sticking true to the source material.

Didn’t show any clips of the frustrating platforming sections combined with the delightful checkpoint system. Get all the way to the end of an infuriating jumping puzzle, miss-time one jump, fall in lava, get put back to the start again. >:(

This isn’t Rott. Personally my most hyped and ultimately biggest disappointment of the year so far. No proper save system, lack of optimization and bugs, map design that barely resembles anything from the classic, horribly amateurish voice acting (No, not just theme appropriate ‘Campy 80′s style’ – literally just *bad*), recently finished Chapter one and had the most bizarre boss battle with Darian in some odd floating roof box…thing.. that doesn’t at all resemble what I remember of that fight in ’95…

I dunno, maybe I just had higher expectations – I feel they’ve gone much too far in the opposite direction of trying to appeal to today’s modern audiences and forgot the original fans whom it initially seemed catered towards.

I still have the guys behind the Duke Nukem Megaton and Shadow Warrior Redux HD polish re-releases I guess, will be looking forward to whatever they tackle next.

This video is most definitely not “unedited and uncut”, unless the actual game does jarring cuts all over the place?

stoibs: appeal to today’s modern audiences

O_O with what mouse support for looking around the place ?
True it’s not identical to the classic but it feels the same. fast paced brutality with some pretty nifty secrets hidden throughout. The save system does suck but so what ? it’s a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent experience.

The only thing that I dont like in ROTT is the fact that the speed you run/distance you jump makes getting onto the hover pads difficult. I guess thats part of the challenge(?).

theres no dedicated servers are there(for mp)? because i didnt see the tool in steam.
