Photos of Valve offices confirm Source Engine 2, Left 4 Dead 3

Source 2 and Left 4 Dead 3 confirmation

By on August 6, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Members of the Dota 2 subreddit were invited to tour the Valve offices as part of the International 3, the multi-million dollar Dota 2 tournament which kicked off yesterday.

While taking photos around the office, one of them snapped the photo above, showing changelogs and commits to Valve’s various products.

But what’s that? Zoom in a bit closer…

Hrmmmm.

No sign of that other franchise that requires a 3 in it’s title… one way or the other…??

NOT HAPPY VALVE!

So…Valve Can count to three…?

stoibs,

How else did they get to Left 4 Dead? :D

That’s a whole lot of source 2 commits. Pretty promising. Notice in the products column you’ve got icons for Steam, Internet (Website), Source 2, DoTa2 and no commits showing for the fifth one… I wonder what it is.. but if L4D3 commits show up in as source 2 one would assume HL3 and P3 would be the same. So I dunno.

This almost raises more questions than it answers.

My guess is that valve will get source 2 into a nice working state for l4d3 and then ‘think about’ hl3.

You never know though… valve could have ‘accidentally’ (on purpose) left a monitor on with the commit logs open with all hl3 references removed to troll us. I wouldn’t put it past them… It may be that hl3 is actively being worked on.

maybe this is just part of Master Gabe’s grand plan?

COLWILL has 3 L’s. HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!

Uhhh

uhhh

uh

We need more Valve/Steam related news articles using that awesome Gabe pic, animated like that if possible, Tim. xD

hellbender,

This seems likely enough to me. Valve wouldn’t just let a bunch of strangers with cameras into their offices with yet-to-be-announced information left out in the open. Not unless they were prepared to have it made public, anyway.

perchh,

Say, in fourteen days perhaps…

Oh I thought they’re going to skip 3 and move on to L4D4. Kidding aside, I would really like having a third installment on the Left 4 Dead. I’m thinking if there is a Left 4 Dead 3, where do they go from here? Are they thinking of new places? I hope it won’t be a rehash of something that they have done before. Well let’s just hope and pray that this is true and that they would make us proud with the make over.
