Command and Conquer to add story-driven campaign missions in 2014

Command and Conquer

While the upcoming Command & Conquer reboot is set to launch this year, it won’t be getting campaign missions until sometime in 2014.

The first Campaign Missions will star the Asia-Pacific Alliance as they try to put down the challenges of the high-tech, expansionist European Union.

“Rumors point to a newly reconstituted Global Liberation Army (GLA) as the instigator, but witnesses have described technology far beyond the reach of any normal terrorist organization,” reads EA’s dire warning. “Concerned, the APA dispatches an elite force to infiltrate the latest, most volatile rebellion, one targeting an EU backed dictator. Their mission – learn the truth about the GLA, undermine the EU and restore peace to the globe.”

Command & Conquer will be free to play when it launches later in the year. Until then, here’s another trailer:

Cool. The 15 people who buy it are sure to enjoy those.

Um…. Its FREE TO PLAY. How is anyone going to buy it?…..

The initial “purchase” is free to play. I’d bet all those nice add-ons like the solo campaign will be a purchase though.

Ea free to play game, to get tanks not made out of paper you need to pay $10 for each tank

Well, if the free part is any good, I might just fork out for some extras so as long as it doesn’t exceed how much I spend on a game usually… which is about $15 for most games. Though I did shell out $100+ for the Diablo 3 collectors ed… don’t laugh, I played all 5 classes through to lvl60 and have a CM Wiz that’s usable in Inferno MP10 so did get my money’s worth of enjoyment. Also made a respectable amount through selling cr@p on the RMAH which, if converted to gold will keep me in the game.

We need someone to invent a time machine so I can go back and kill EA, save Westwood and restore the Tiberium series.

I approve of this idea, and will provide funding to whomever can come up with a viable time manipulation gizmo. I used to love C&C/Red Alert back in the day. What the hell is this Generals? I don’t know, but it’s not C&C.

RIP C&C :(

Sweet, another unfinished cashgrab masquerading as a finished release.

The plan itself could form the basis of a RA4 plot. ;-)
