Valve looking to make changes to most popular and most unpopular TF2 items

Team Fortress 2

Valve have continued to explain the changes they’ll be making in their massive upcoming patch, following on from the map changes they discussed earlier in the week.

The next update will tweak the stats on “dozens of weapons”, but some of the changes discussed include tweaks to the Battalion’s Backup Banner, which very few players are bothering to use, and the Dead Ringer, which a staggering 80% of players have equipped on their spies.

Item sets will also see changes, focused around making sure that “invisible bonuses” were tweaked, bonuses that affected the player but which weren’t clearly obvious to enemies who might be attacking them.

Valve are asking for feedback in their forums, so read the notes and let them know what you think.

I will miss the dead ringer as it is now. Many will remember running around in the gonlympics with my knife in their back… feeling sure they had killed me at least once….

There has been a great disturbance in the servers, as if millions of Spies have cried out in pain and whined about the loss of their advantage.

Meanwhile, thousands of Pyros have let out a maniacal laugh at the news!

Muhahahahahahaha!

Aw man, I love my dead ringer.

Dead ringer + backstab.

Those who can, do. Those who can’t , complain ;)

This.

Its already easy enough for a decent pyro to track down a dead ringer and hard enough for spies to avoid them. With the amount of randomness that goes on now with all the new weapons, dead ringer is about the only choice for a spy that doesn’t want to spend all their time avoiding things. Now that its gonna get nerfed, i expect a lot less spies to play.

TBQH I never use the Dead Ringer because I fell instantly in love with the Cloak and Dagger and never unequipped it. Recharging cloak, my god.
