Take a look at Planetside 2′s first Battle Island

Planetside 2

The video below shows off Nexus, a forested Battle Island acting as an expansion to Planetside 2′s existing map system. Battle Islands are designed to offer enclosed arenas for eSports events, where they’ll host 48 v 48 combat, but exist in the MMO’s world alongside more open landscapes as stop-offs between continents. Each can hold up to 250 players making them extremely promising in terms of utter carnage, and once warp-gates are introduced in November, if you manage to take one of these babies and your faction will control passage between continents.

oh no.
this is what killed planetside 1 – in that case it was the underground levels they added.
all it did was spread out the battle to thinly.. i hope im wrong in this case

Sounds like BF3′s Metro. Flies in the face of everything Battlefield/Planetside stands for, but it’ll be extremely popular with the masses for its ridiculous spammy nonsense. I won’t be going anywhere near it myself.

If it introduces continent spanning content then it needs to hurrytf up. As I understand it, its 125v125 fight and is the one of the hops between continents.

I’m looking forward to the new continents Hossin, Searhus & Oshur coming out soon. Once these are out hopefully SOE will expand even further and add an ocean connecting the continents giving another optional way rather than using warp-gates to cross continents, SOE said that might be a possibility in a few years down the road.

reason I quit playing, soe are pandering to the single worst thing to ever happen to fps gaming… the teenage wanna be gang bangers of MLG. They spam forums with endless hate towards anyone that dares to laugh at them, an soe are pandering expressly to these fools.

There was a huge thread other day MLG demanding the game be “easier” an less tanks because no “real elite gamer takes ps2 seriously” LOL elite gamers??? jesus fuck me.
