Borderlands 2 DLC to raise level cap to 72, add extra missions

Although the season pass has ended, Gearbox has plenty of DLC planned for Borderlands 2.

Announced during a panel at PAX Australia, the $5 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will go for $5. It raises the level cap 72 and adds extra options for turning the difficulty up. Beyond this, it adds a mission string set after the events of the campaign in which the player aids Professor Tannis in training would-be Crimson Raiders.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 is just one of a couple of releases planned before the end of October; Gearbox is planning a series of what it’s calling Headhunter Packs.

The first of these is called T.K. Baha’s Bloody Harvest, and will see the undead return of the titular character, last seen in the first Borderlands game. Gearbox didn’t share how much content the pack would contain, what it will cost, or what’s expected in the next pack, but did say it hopes to produce two or three of them at least.

Finally, Gearbox has some more free DLC on the way, which will increase inventory and bank sizes.

In a recent interview with Gearbox staff, we learned that sales of the latest DLC pack, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, would determine whether the developer kept producing content for the game. I guess we can infer it sold pretty well.

Guessing they had a surge of people like me that recently picked it up with the season pass for $16.

Glad some inventory is coming, its silly having so little space to hold all that loot.

dajenko,

Once you use some of the purple stuff at the black market, its not to bad. My problem is more ammo.

Upping the difficulty? If its just more HP and harder hitting enemies….*yawn* this is such a boring way to make a game harder.
