Observe the gorgeous graphics of Star Citizen in this spaceship advertisement

Star Citizen

By on June 24, 2013 at 6:54 pm

This in-world ad for the Origin Jumpworks 300 Series of spaceships does two things: the first is make me very, very angry that 2013 is so horribly mundane and I can’t literally go out and buy a spaceship for myself.

The second is to make me wonder just how good Star Citizen is going to look when it launches… eventually. The commercial you’ll see below is rendered entirely in-engine, and Roberts Space Industries are unabashedly hoping that you’ll be inspired to buy into the game.

This blog post by Chris Roberts also explains that this is your last chance to get Life Time Insurance with your ship, so hit up the site and buy in if you’re keen.

Oh and hey, there’s even a PDF brochure to browse through to help you select a 300 series model. Aaaaaaaaa.

Just upgraded my 300i to the 315p :D

Lord_PorkSword

Upgraded my 300i to the 325a!

Their marketing works wonders though. They’ve made another $150k+ since the 300vid was released!

I’m eager to see the vids that’ll be released over the next few days!

Anyone know if the 300i will be upgradeable to the others in game?

ottomatic,

Yes. All upgrade options will be available with in game credits.

The commercial you’ll see below is rendered entirely in-engine,

No mention of which engine? :(

I find your lack of CryENGINE faith, disturbing! >:D

I get what they’re trying to do with this and I backed SC but I’m not too keen on the American military cultural influence on their ship designs. I’ve been more impressed by the designs coming from Elite Dangerous, which feel more inclined towards science fiction. At the end of the day, you can’t escape cultural influence, I’m just saying that I’m not liking the influence in SC ship design. Time to break out of the US military look and come up with something different.

Oh damn this.
Now I have to go wipe a pool of drool off my desk.
