Bohemia to add Mars to their simulations catalogue with Take On Mars

Take On Mars

By on June 13, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Bohemia Interactive have used this year’s E3 to reveal that the next installment of their Take On simulator range will now be set on the red planet.

Putting players in the seat of a Rover Operator, Take On Mars will allow you to “work your way through the numerous Science Missions in each location, unlocking the secrets of Mars’ distant past”.

You can watch the trailer for this below, or — if you’d like to practice Mars landings in another game — why not check out the Australian-made Lunar Flight on Steam instead?

I love seeing devs “think outside of the box” like this and in your suggestion of Lunar Flight – which I must say just become a lot more attractive to me once I noticed it supports the 360 controller. Adds to wishlist..

You had me at Mars and Simulation, damn I love all things space and scifi :D (yes this isn’t scifi I know but it’s still space)

lunar flight is great value Mearehear, now with multiplayer and 4 great maps and constantly being developed, best 10usd I’ve ever spent on a game/sim; and take on mars does look fun, I definitely enjoyed ToH so no doubt will add this to the game menu :)

So…

Drive a bit at 2km/h
Dig rock
Put rock in analyser hole
Repeat

Maybe they can add Arnie and some Mars Attacks aliens to spice it up.

(I actually think this game looks interesting but might have pretty narrow appeal).

What I want to know is whether, like with the maps from Take On Helicopters, they could be converted to work with the Arma series. Martian Infantry Simulator… AHOY!
