Battlefield 4 Multiplayer

DICE and EA have released a video explaining the Spectator Mode in Battlefield 4 and going into a bit of detail about how it will all work.

Users will be able to place static cameras around the map and flip through them on command, as well as getting a picture-in-picture overview of the entire map in action.

You can also flip between first- and third-person view at will, as well as click through a list of player names to jump straight to them.

Check it all out in action below.

why is it a waste? they’re trying to make it fit in the comp scene more which is good, the issue will be balancing the game lol

EA Hater Bandwagoner!

This will be good for referee’s in comp games, and in game movie creation.
No battlerecorder tho?

I’d prefer them to focus more on some sort of Battlerecorder or COD style Theatre mode.

Ok so get your tablet and and PC; go spectator mode on PC and run your commander from your tablet and bomb the enemy and know where everyone is? how would they stop this from happening?

jellygoose,

Good question.

jellygoose,

Yeah very good point, I’d imagine it would have to be a separate account but then purchasing another game is nothing to someone that wants this advantage.

Can’t limit one account per IP either….

On a different note I’m with mindsnare, this will help to call out cheaters.

I bet they could have server side commands to allow or disallow spectating.

I want battle recorder, that was so much fun and it was small simple files to boot.

So guys dont worry I rekon spectator mode will be optional on server side and im sure GON will disable it with their servers and im sure in ladder comps they will only allow limited players and 1 to only spectate.

Will spectators take up a players spot on the server?

If that is the case then this is going to unbalance teams so much.

You will have heaps of players running around looking at their cams in spectator mode. Might have 25 players playing from one team and 15 from the other etc…

What would truly be amazing is if they would allow another 64 users (1 for every player) connect to the server and spectate only.

jerichosainte,

I agree, it would have to be limited to a per account basis but theres nothing to stop you having multiple accounts.

Has anyone heard more on the tablet side of things and what they a specifying as a compatible tablet? Surface RT/Surface Pro, iPad, Andriod tablets or a PC that just happens to have a touch enabled monitor?

yapa,

You would hope not otherwise you would have entire servers full of nothing but spectators.
