The Stomping Land is a survival multiplayer game, but with dinosaurs

If you’ve enjoyed playing DayZ but always wondered why it didn’t have more dinosaurs in it, then maybe The Stomping Land is for you. Up on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight, The Stomping Land is a survival multiplayer game where you play as primitive humans who must work together (or alone) to survive, build and thrive in a harsh, dinosaur-filled environment.

The game includes mechanics such as tracking the amount of dinosaur meat currently being stored, which reduces the amount of dinosaurs on the map. As you need dinosaur meat (or other meat) to live, but killing dinosaurs is often a lethal prospect, this will create tense hoarding situations. Players can also form tribes, create traps, salvage resources, and build camp sites.

The Stomping Land has already passed its Kickstarter goal with still a month left on the clock, so things are hopefully looking good. Check it out here and see if it’s the sort of thing you’d enjoy.

I think I might throw $15 at this one, just because if he can pull it off, should be able to get at least that much fun out of it.

Mostly though, Dinosaurs.

I love the sound of this. But I suspect it will regress to STAB ALL THE HUMANS! I’m so up for this either way haha.

Why the shit has nobody made a decent dinosaur hunter game yet? I could go for doing co-op missions set on a massive JP style island with different environments and dinosaurs all over the damn place.

I want to hunt and be hunted…. but with dinosaurs.

the theme is only one part of a game. I’ll keep an eye on it and will hope for the best, but the trailer really didn’t inspire me to put any money down.

Humans co-existing with dinosaurs? That should please the Christians. I’ll buy it if it has PvP and dino-riding.

Now what ever happened to that Jurassic Park Crysis mod?

urrrgh scientific inaccuracies

having said that this game looks really interesting, might actually throw money at them.

. I’ll buy it if it has PvP

God I hate PvP sure it has it’s places but it ruins so many things in games I’d rather work with people than against them.

Love everything about this so far… except the title.

Saw this on the Epic forums. Looks rather interesting.

I’m in, couldn’t help myself.

I agree; I’d rather the dinosaurs a very real threat, and PvP only being a ‘we have 4 cans of beans left and some velociraptors were chasing us, sorry mate but I’m leaving you for dead so they leave me alone’ instead of like Day Z’s ‘oh zombies let me outrun them give me 10 seconds’.

Think Turok level of threat.

I just watched the video on Greenlight and it seems really limited to what you can and will be able to do.

I am not sold…

The problem is the “Golden Rule” doesn’t apply in these societies because you yourself can immediately respawn.
