Crysis 3‘s multiplayer fun-times are about to get a shake-up with the release of new ‘Lost Island’ DLC on June 5. The pack will feature four new maps, two new game modes (Frenzy and Possession) and multiple new weapons as well.

According to the press release, “traces of a mysterious alien presence have been discovered on a small island in the Philippines 200 miles from Ling Shan. Rebel forces have been dispatched to destroy this unknown extraterrestrial entity before an elite CELL team has the chance to obtain it.”

Crytek’s CEO Cevat Yarli calls the new setting “a return to Crysis’ spiritual roots”. The DLC will retail for $23.95 AUD on PC and PS3, or 1200 MSP on Xbox.

Got excited as I thought “Cool some new maps!” then saw the $24 price tag… That was the moment when the reality of modern DLC kicked in….

That’s half the price I paid for the full game. :/
Might pass on this until a more realistic price comes to fruition…

Is anyone actually playing Crysis 3 online?

I had a hard time finding a game when I decided to give multi a whirl a few weeks after launch.

I find it frustrating with all the new Crysis games MP because it seems that the original vanilla Crysis MP offerered the best fun. It was like Battlefield but with super armour. Being cloaked in some shrubs meant the people could walk right past you and not see you.

I just feel like Crysis MP should be still alive because it was cool awesome fun.

People still play Crysis 3 MP?

Also, I bet the price will be lower in the US (it always is for some reason).

I’d love a singleplayer expansion, but I couldn’t give less of a toss about the multiplayer. Shame.

I completely agree.

$24 for MP DLC on a game that very few people still (or will ever again) play is just ridiculous.

I like how they create a short bit of backstory for the DLC even though it’s still only MP. That’s… pointless.

downloader123,

it would have taken, what, 5 minutes for someone to write that, they might as well.

Looks like we get ripped off $10 over our American brothers….shame on you Ubisoft/EA/Crytek or whoever else is responsible!

EDIT: Wait a sec..WTF!! Same MS points as America to purchase but if you have to pay via $ then it’s an extra $10… ROFL!

Now where are those key sites who sell it cheap…

Fail Cervat Yerli. You really have lost the plot as to what makes a good game…

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I still want to play Crysis Wars.

crysis 1 mp/wars was fucking terrible – no-one was ever playing it either. It was lagg-arifically horrible. It was also released at a time when barely anybodies pc could run it decently, hurting it furthermore. I guess its premise wasnt bad, but in practice it just didnt work. Crysis 2 and 3 has shit multiplayer, not a chance ill buy this, in fact, im beginning to think less and less of crysis.

Disagree, Giggles. Up until recently there was a Crysis Wars server that was heavily populated and the gameplay was AWESOME.

Crysis Wars was awesome. You could also install play over LAN with only one copy of the disk too. Ahh the good old days.

oh fair enough. I NEVER got a game of wars (bought on release too) but loved the idea of it. crysis 1 was a pc eating monster, i had a quad core duo at the time (2.4 ghz?) that played it surprisingly well, only, i was totally awful at it. I barely got any kills, hence barely got any credits and could never buy a decent gun. everyone that knew what they were doing were running around with scars and red dots, i was stuck with the primary gun half the time… was that the FY71? i dont remember specifically. it had a lot of potential (wars) i would of loved a game of it. all i ended up was bitter.

than crysis 2 came along with uninterrupted hack-ability, 3′s gon servers are populated by either cheating or very good players from all over asia.

Crysis / Wars multiplayer was great. More battlefield then COD. Then Crysis 2 swung over to COD and there was much sobbing :(

When GON was asking for ideas on old-game servers to run, I asked for Crysis Wars. You guys should’ve chimed in then.

Wars can be had for $1 to $5.

I was eagerly awaiting Crysis 2 and Crytek as a shining light for PC gaming. Then they sold out — the “Nanosuit 2.0″ is pretty much a “Nanosuit 0.5″ since it’s dumbed down and feels a lot weaker. “Press start to begin”? F*ck you Crytek!
