One of the new features being added in the upcoming ‘Brave New World’ expansion for Civilization V is culture and tourism elements. You can read more about these and how they work in our massive Civilization V interview with Dennis Shirk from Firaxis — or you can watch the video below! Or both. Maybe do both.

looks a bit meh. I’d be interested in a Space Age expansion though, something that lets us do a bit more in the future ages- right now the end game is boring and dull. (I actually find the atomic and medieval ages to be the most fun).

“The new culture victory”

No ye olde voice over man, culture victories have been in the game since launch.

I believe they mean the new culture victory, compared to the old culture victory

Few more expansions like this, and it might be an entire game like civ2 :)

Really over their current policy of only making the framework of a full game to start with.

Hmm.. you must not have a good memory.. I was dishing out shit cans about Sim City well before it even came out. Pretty much I shit can every major developer. Not worth the time or the money frankly. Hell half the time it ain’t even worth talking about it. I just enjoy watching fanboys squirm.

This is sort of interesting. I hope they include a few AI fixes, because it’s pretty bloody stupid as it currently is – the amount of times I’ve had AI build cities next to my capital within the first 20-50 turns and then get angry at my for expanding near them is really starting to shit me.

The point about the end game being pretty boring is a good one, too. Combat victories take way too long to be worth it most of the time as well.

There is a ton of info on all of the new stuff in the interview that’s linked, I highly recommend it ;)

Well now it looks like I will have another hundred hours or so to spend on CivV.
