Bethesda teasing new game, say it’s “not related” to anything they’re working on

Bethesda's Unannounced Thing

By on May 7, 2013 at 9:50 am

Bethesda have taken to Twitter to tease a new project, posting a bizarre montage of some high-tech looking imagery, presumably snapped from a CGI trailer.

The teasing continues on Gamespot, where another larger image was revealed.

Odds are good that it’s something to do with Machine Games, a studio made up of former Starbreeze members who were acquired by Bethesda in 2010. According to their website, they’ve been working on “an unannounced project for ZeniMax publishing subsidiary, Bethesda Softworks, that is being built on id Software’s revolutionary id Tech® 5 engine technology.”

Stay tuned!

I have analysed the two images and from a blunt guess i say CarGame.

that image shows clear tail light from an indy type car.
You can see diffs and suspension tie rods.

as for the other image. maybe Robots?

So cars and robots in war games?

IMO Transformers game. The pointy things look like something Ironhide would have on his arm/hand.

somexspec,

Activision own the rights to transformers.

Maybe it’s the old Machine Men franchise from the 80′s? (the cheaper, poorer and more boring transformers?)

It would be supercool if it was like Heavy Gear, then again I think Activision still own the rights to that.

At this point I label the game: Roboclaws 1: Super Robocats in Space.

There’s already a new heavy gear game coming out by an indie developer, so its definitely not that.

Where do I preorder that game?

notthatdoug: Where do I preorder that game?

Not available for pre-order just yet, but I have heard that they have spent the last 6 years simply compiling the code and working on the graphics for the explosions that will make any Michael Bay movie look like a tamer version of The Sound of Music. When your Robo-claw Robocats shoot nuclear warheads as standard ammunition from their machine cannon, well there are going to be a lot of explosions filling the monitor.

Probably more swearing than your standard Bad Boys era Bay film as well.

As evidenced by the following text extracted from the alpha version, which is pretty much the whole intro to the game:

“Hey! You dirty robo- 01101101011011110111010001101000011001010111
001001100110011101010110001101101011011001010
111001001110011 eat nuclear warhead!”

Of course Bethesda may choose to not run with my working title, but *shrug* their loss.

Edited: as binary overran the post borders :O

It’s Wolfenstein: The new Order.

meji,

Why Micheal Bay when they’re owned by Jerry Bruckheimer IMO. (needs moar *sunglasses* “YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!”)

Should point out that its the New Wolfenstien game. Teaser looks shit.

A reboot of Wolfenstein 3d I think except this time it is a later period in history and the Nazi’s won WW2 or something like that and now it’s BJ’s turn to rip up some Nazi scum.
