Respawn entertainment trademarks something called ‘Titan’

Respawn Entertainment

Respawn Entertainment, or The Studio Formerly Known As Infinity Ward, have yet to reveal anything about what their new project was going to be ever since they very publicly and acrimoniously split with Activision — aside from this blurry screenshot.

Now, we know very slightly more — they’ve trademarked a piece of “video or computer game software” by the name of “Titan”. The listing occurred on April 11 and has only just been discovered, you can see it for yourself by searching for ‘Titan’.

There’s been no information revealed other than that, but Respawn are confirmed to have a presence at E3 this year where we should learn more.

Aren’t Blizzard already working on something called Titan?

Blizzard’s game is just codenamed Titan during development. Once it launches, it’ll have a different name (especially now, since Respawn have trademarked this one).

Judging by the Title, previous work of the Devs.

I assume this will be a extremely linear Military FPS with over the top action and will last 4 hours and then be quickly forgotten.

I went to that link with the blurry picture with some information provided below. That whole “creators of the Call-Of-Duty Franchise” and funded by EA can only mean I won’t like it :(

Respect to the original CoDs though, the gametype was done very well for its time (WW2 verions), although obviously inspired by Medal of Honour.

I would have thought the name ‘titan’ was was too similar to other game titles to be able to be copywrited.

Theres been a bunch of games with titan in the name, the only differentiation being what else has made up the name. I would think that ‘titan’ just on its own would infringe on every other copywrited name.

Better not be any mechs in it or they have a lawsuit coming.

coatsy22,

Titan is the abbreviation.
It’s real name is

The.Inane.Tales.of.an.American.Navy-seal.

No offense but…Dafaq? I guess this is a play on the fact both studios were founded by the same guy or something because I know that you know this sentence isn’t even slightly true.

OLD IW = RESPAWN, Activision kept the IW name because they purchased them, but the current IW is 90% nobodys.

You are so stupid it hurts.
Call of Duty 1/2/4 (the decent call of duty games) was developed by the people now know as respawn.

Treyarch/Sledgehammer are the reasons for MW2/3/Blackops/2

Incase people are still wondering its going to be an Action RPG FPS.
Think Borderlands+UT

Again it sounds like it’s a play on how a lot of the key talent from IW went to Respawn.

This is supposed to be a Halo killer, anyway we will have to wait and see how this stacks up against Destiny.
