Resident Evil: Revelations

Capcom are promising a return to the horror roots of Resident Evil with the upcoming HD remake of Resident Evil: Revelations, and they’ve gathered together some of the development team to talk about just how scary the original games were.

Whether they’ll be able to translate that into an actually scary experience this time around is yet to be seen, but with critics universally panning Resident Evil 6 (including ourselves) it probably won’t be difficult to up the ante a little. Check out the video below.

“One of the best aspects of the Resident Evil series has been its use of each game’s location uniquely in each title as part of the horror,”

Yes Ms Hashimoto you get it. I worry when the word “scary” keeps getting used as it could be derived primarily from cheap jump scares. What we (I) want is a wholisticly creepy environment and atmosphere.
