Is this the Skyrim collection you’ve been waiting for?

Skyrim 580x300

If you delayed picking up Skyrim because you suspected a special edition would pop up at some stage or other, your patience has been rewarded. Bethesda has a long history of repackaging its hits, meaning that today’s announcement of The Elder Scrolls V: Legendary Edition probably won’t come as much of a surprise.

The new release will include version 1.9 of the core game, which recently added a withering new difficulty level, removed the level cap for some skills, addressed some stability issues and fixed a range of persistent bugs. The collection will also include DLC instalments Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

The Elder Scrolls V: Legendary Edition will be available in Australia from Thursday 6 June. The PC version will retail for $49.95.

$50? Very nice.

I haven’t bought any of the DLC, this may be my chance to get it in one nice, simple bundle!

I wish they would do just a DLC pack for those that already have the core game.

Can lefties who use the keypad play this yet?

ekimus,

what till xmas then and you’ll see it 50% off during the Steam sales. I’d reckon by June 2014 the whole thing will end up in a special going for around $10

$50 in Australia likely means $40 in the US. If you’re going to get it, wait for one of the OS / greymarket stores to stock it.

Are they all separate Steam items? So if you bought this could you then gift the core game to someone who doesn’t have it (finding such a person may be the difficult part) and keep the DLC?

Also, isn’t that a mob from Morrowind in the screeny?

Wait…. isn’t that Morrowind?

ooshp,

Yes and No
DragonBorn takes place on a Morrowind Island and you can fight Morrowind creatures and see the Red Mountain but you cant get to it.

As in, numpad on your right and mouse on your left? I play with IJKL and have had few problems with key rebinds in Skyrim, except that you have to remember what all your unique binds are because the shortcut key icons don’t reflect what you’ve bound. And there are some commands you can’t rebind, I think. Lazy developers.

Does it not allow you to bind any keys at all to the numpad?

larry,

There is a workaround to use the numpad (I use the numpad). I can’t remember what it is though.

If it’s super life changing let me know and I’ll find it for you.

kendrite,

Not for me, no. I use the right side of the main keyboard (IJKL where right-handers use WASD). More key options.

I wont say life changing bit I dont play Skyrim as a result. My old brain has been trained to use the keypad and I dont enjoy (or feel I should have to) not using it. Every other FPS I have played has allowed me to bind to the keypad. I was very disappointed in Skyrim for not allowing me to do the same.

The most recent DLC (Dragon born) takes place in morrowind.

bauer,

Ha, now I can’t remember how I did it! I did find this though: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/88 might help.

kendrite,

Looks like to go to me. Appreciate you taking the time to reply.

cheers

damn it, I just started playing again forked out for each DLC separately only yesterday…

Going through with sky ui and a few other mods and loving it.

bauer,

I have struggled heavily with this over the years. Dead space was another. With skyrim I actually used a controller which to be honest of your using swords/magic it actually works better in many ways though it does completed rule out archery.

Left hand mouse with the numpad? I don’t feel alone in the universe anymore.
