Fez, that indie darling formerly exclusive to Xbox LIVE, is finally heading to PC — and pre-orders will begin on April 22.

You’ll be able to pre-order both on Steam and on GOG.com, and pre-orders will be $9 instead of the $10 final sale price.

“With our patented pre-order technology, we take your money TODAY and give you something LATER!” screams the official announcement. “Spend money AND save money! AT THE SAME TIME!”

Fez has sold over 200,000 copies so far on XBLA alone.

It looked like one of the best indie games last year on consoles.
Great news on GOG along with Steam.

Do you think the Steam one will offer free Linux support down the road or the Linux edition will be a separate buy ?

Such a ripper price, glad to see Fez getting a PC release :D.

I don’t find too many games catch my eye these days, but this game is positively…fez-inating…

(please don’t hurt me…)

Honestly, Fez looked spectacular in the hype before release, but the actual game left a damn lot to be desired. A DAMN lot.

Well yeah, I’ve got it on XB360 and am unable to complete it due to slow-down issues that started occurring in certain locations. I found it quite fun to play while it was working though…

Hobo: I’ve heard that from a few people. Is there any way to elaborate without spoiling things?

gnavin,

Basically, the puzzles were incredibly lacking, and there’s really not much else to the game other than puzzles; there’s no enemies or anything to speak of, meaning outside of puzzles all you really have is a little exploration. I really don’t know what the hell Phil Fish was doing for five years. There’s also no penalty at all for screwing up jumps (you respawn exactly where you were before you jumped), meaning even the platforming is pretty forgettable and easy going.

I will say, I like the art style, but even that is heavily derivative of earlier indie games (Cave Story comes to mind).

It’s up for preorder now and already there’s a lot of hate on the Steam discussions.

EDIT: I’ve also noticed slowdowns on the 360 version but they only seem to happen when trying to load a new area and only after playing the game for a while.
