Shadowrun Returns gets first-look gameplay footage

Harebrained Schemes has released nearly twenty minutes of alpha footage of Shadowrun Returns. The developer didn’t want to spoil the intrigue-riddled plot, so what you’ll see below is a side mission. The turn-based RPG based on the venerable pen-and-paper property was one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns to follow Double Fine Adventure and is expected in early winter.

This one’s exceeded my expectations the most so far. Wasteland 2 and the Double Fine Adventure both look fine, but this game I would buy in an instant if I hadn’t already put money into the Kickstarter. And then including a level editor as well just makes it that much better again. Fingers crossed for a strong community.

I love the remixed Snes Music.
Resurgence of all these amazing, >proper<, classic isometric Rpg's via Kickstarter is a great thing to see in this unfortunate era of hack'n'slash/dumbed down/third person shooter *cough EA Mass effect* titles claiming to be role-playing games.

Kickstarter has really been taking a toll on my wallet over these years, worth every penny so far.

dear god yes please

Now I’m *really* disappointed about missing out on the Kickstarter. This looks good.

Likewise. I had to admit I was grinning childishly when I saw Jake Armitage and heard the remixed SNES battle music.

Can’t wait to try it for myself.

Edit: You can pre-order from their site if you just have to throw some money at it.

This looks just about perfect.

I can’t seem to pre-order from the site though?
