More bank vaults set to be plundered as PayDay 2 is examined

I was really looking forward to the original PayDay, and then when it launched I quickly discovered that I was in no way anywhere near good enough at the game to even beat the first level. That didn’t stop me trying an additional 1,072 times, but that’s not the point. The point is: PayDay 2 is coming, and hopefully the developers have toned it down a bit because god-damn. As you can see in the below preview from Outside Xbox, there’s a bunch of new features including an in-game economy, persistent characters and unlocks, and the need to fence stolen goods after missions. Check it out:

Loved the original payday, needed 3 other friends to hope to beat any missions.. and the dreaded heat street… But it was awesome. Excited for this. Hopefully its more of the same but improved.

I only played the original for the first time last week… and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to this, hopefully I can play it with real people and not crummy bots!

It still looks like the shooting mechanics are below average. I had a LAN night with 4 mates, we all decided to buy number 1 and loved the ish outta it for a good 2 hours, then we realised the shooting was below par and it frustrated us. I was excited about 2, but it looks like they improved everything but the mechanics.

Been watching these vids and reading some articles all morning, Indeed looks much more fleshed out than the original.

Though I’m not totally sold on the idea of the “crime.net” system, whereby certain missions are arbitrarily gated based on random times..? Just give me a big ol’ list of all the available missions (50 of them rumoured!?) and let me play whatever I please.

Also the class system sounds good on paper, but unless we can have multiple profiles/loadouts of each type I can see this being a huge grief by ‘elitists’ who want to play a certain mission a certain way (stealth for instance) and thus will kick out players who aren’t the right ‘build’ – potential griefing factor with this end-of-heist loot drop system also.

Early Alpha however and things can change, had multiple hundreds of hours in the first game, will more than likely pre-order this one.

Already the game looks better, will keep and eye on this sequel

First game was one of the best multiplayer experiences I’ve ever had, to this day HEAT has THE best gunfight in any movie ever filmed and no game has really captured that for me until Payday.

TBH it’s amazing nobody tried the idea earlier because it’s one that’s pretty much guaranteed to be a success unless you screw up real bad.

Will be buying as soon as i can, hopefully this time they just pump out missions.
