Heart of the Swarm has launched in Australia: get downloading now

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

Take advantage of the fact that our clocks are substantially ahead of our American brethren and get cracking on Heart of the Swarm, which is available to Australians right now. It’s a hefty download but if you’ve kept your client up to date it shouldn’t be too crazy — on the other hand though if you have no StarCraft on your system at all it’ll set you back about 10 GB.

Heart of the Swarm brings a full Zerg-themed campaign which kicks off where Wings of Liberty closed, as well as a new slew of multiplayer units, a new training mode against AI that responds to your skill development and suggests tactics and builds, and more. Here’s everything we’ve written about it so far.

You can pick up a physical copy from places like EB for around $48, or you can buy a Digital Deluxe version direct from Blizzard for $65. There are Collectors Editions at retail as well, but good luck getting one of those if you haven’t pre-ordered already!

How’d you like my groove, Daggoth?

Well done.

So far so good. Really waiting on us being able to play campaigns on the US servers though so I can talk with friends while I play.

If you have WoL installed you probably won’t need to install from a CD and are most likely patched up and ready to play if you have launched it any time in the past week.

Like with the MoP launch, everything is pretty much already installed through patches, they just need to flick the switch to allow people to use it, with maybe a small patch for a few other things.

ordered it from amazon, it still hasn’t shipped :( won’t be here till friday at the earliest most likely sometime next week, :( o well

You’re still special to me :3

Adelaide peeps should go check out Shin Tokyo in Rundle Mall, they always have collectors editions of everything ;)

Bloody battle.net still won’t allow me to use my US Bliz Bucks to purchase this. I’d be less grumpy if they at least got the currency right… I’m not in Singapore damn you!

novocaine,

Why can’t you play campaign on the US servers? I thought this was possible.

syncourt,

Id guess u cant play on the US server til the US release, a few hours after the Sea launch

Ahhh, fair enough then. I thought he meant it like it will be a feature added later or something.

Also, WOW we actually got a game release BEFORE the US did for once? ripper!

Played about 2 hours of the campaign yesterday and loving every minute; the opening 10 minutes of cinematics were superb and has really set up the campaign story; looking forward to the rest :)

Finished it last night. Was absolutely glorious. Now to play it on Brutal.
