EA to reveal Battlefield 4 details at GDC next week

Battlefield 4

As gaming sites in their multitudes begin to reveal that they’ve received invitations to a Battlefield 4 event at the Game Developers Conference 2013 next week, so too can games.on.net reveal that we have also been invited to the same event.

On March 26, EA will be revealing all the details of the next in their ridiculously popular franchise, which has already been shown off to Gamespot execs and is rumoured to bring back the commander system, along with female soldiers. Click here to see the definitive list of what we’d like to see in EA’s upcoming sequel.

We’ll be there on the ground at EA’s March 26 event, and have the details for you as soon as we can. Stay tuned.

There is one thing I want to see, Battlefield 1943 (Frostbite 2)..

The one thing I don’t want to see … more modern combat.

Give me commander mode and VOIP and I’ll be happy. And maps that are better than the current end game ones because they’re kind poo. They’re ok in conquest mode but CTF and rush is awful. Sniper central.

In fact, just get rid of all sniper rifles all together then I’ll be happy. When half the enemy team are snipers it’s just not fun anymore.

mindsnare,

Major armchair general detected. People play games for fun. If they find sniping in a large open area fun, why shouldn’t they do it? Not everyone plays to win every game. I certainly do, but that’s not the point. Also join a clan and use TS if you want to use VoIP. I don’t want to hear the usual mouth-breathing neckbeards telling teams how bad they are because they ignore the godawful tactical advice being yelled at them in yet another game.

phewcha,
I want this so bad… Completely over MMS, but that’s all there is at the moment. Maybe one day we can have WW2 games again..

I posted a link in the First Person Shooters forums yesterday of an upcoming WW2 FPSMMO game, Its currently in beta but you guys might like it.

Heroes & Generals

I will wait for Premium…. then I can jump legit customers waiting in to get into servers. EA you lost me at that point…shat in your fist & squeeze it!!

wolfstar90,

For the record I wasn’t entirely serious about the sniper thing. it’s just been giving me the irrits for the last few nights.

And I already use the Battlelog VOIP with my friends when we play. But come on you’re telling me you wouldn’t want Squad based voip? as soon as you join a squad you can immediately communicate with that squad. Mute it if you want, but hell it would be handy. I think it’s a dream though, for some reason no one other than Valve seem to be able to get in-game VOIP working properly on PC .

I would love to see a more BF2 style of game with guns that are unique and hard to use. more health for the soldiers so aiming becomes important again. The return of the 6 man squad with VOIP and also the return of the commander/battle recorder.

Heroes & Generals

That does look good.

lex,

6 Man squads oh yes. Battlerecorder TESTIFY. Oh so many awesome moments missed.

I would love to see the return of serious tactical gameplay and maps that accommodated for it, but even if they did that, watching fps gamers today try to co-operate in a public match would be like watching a retard trying to fuck a door knob.

mindsnare,

No. The effort for muting it every time isn’t worth it. If I want to be talking to people we’re in TS/Vent. In-game VoIP is dreadful and will always be dreadful.

My wish list for BF4:

VOIP – Being able to drop into a squad in BF2 and get the whole squad talking and working as a team made BF2 great.
Desert Combat on Frostbite – need I say more?
Vietnam – Music in vehicles.Brilliant.

Seriously, decent VOIP would be a damn fine start.

If it has Battlerecorder, take all my monies.
Although I hope future projects would be based on Battlefield 2142, that game was just too fun.
