New CGI Neverwinter trailer stars your typical fighter/cleric/mage/rogue party (also a dracolich)

I’m sure that there will be much moaning and groaning about this entirely CG trailer. But let me tell you, I play a lot of D&D and seeing these ideas come to life, even if it is 4E, is pretty spectacular to me.

We have a dracolich and an army of otherwise undead creatures attacking Neverwinter, and a group of adventurers trying to stop them. They seem a little outnumbered to me — perhaps that’s where you come in, eh? — followed by Valindra the lich queen being all evil and undead and stuff.

This is apparently the third part in a three-part series of CGI trailers, but I cannot find the others for the life of me. Watch it and tell us what you think. And if you happen to know where I could find the other two, please link me! In other news, the beta events start this week, for those of you lucky/rich enough to get in.

Meh…

Looks ok, be more interested to see the in-game graphics and gameplay.

Generic…

No gameplay? No care.

When are MMO devs going to realize that customers don’t give a shit about how good their cut scenes are if the game itself is trash?

Very casual sort of a city defence. The citizens didn’t even come out to fight… or even watch.

Cool CGI I suppose….I always did like watching these kind of things. We all know this is the best thing that will come out of this game.

eh better than the heart of the swarm trailer

Blizzard called, they want their dragon back.

That was probably one of the better CGI trailers i’ve seen, I liked the designs of the non-humans.

Also maybe with it being Part 3 they might be releasing them in reverse like what SWTOR did?

Noooope! Dracolich’s have existed in D&D for literally decades and look exactly like that. Blizzard stole the idea from Wizards. Sorry!

groups or no groups? other wise “YAWN”

There was a Dracolich in Hordes of the Underdark, an addon for Neverwinter Nights, way way back in the day. Also, with that scene where the cleric nearly got pummelled, I usually play one that’s combat capable. Fire domain and such.
