High-speed motorbike chases the order of the day in Battlefield 3′s Endgame CTF

Battlefield 3 Endgame

By on February 1, 2013 at 2:03 pm

If there’s one thing definitely missing from Battlefield 3‘s impressive warzone coverage, it’s high-speed motorbike chases. In the video below, Capture the Flag mode turns into a no-holds barred motorbike race across open terrain, with players blasting away at each other, buzzing overhead in helicopters, and bursting through clouds of smoke. It looks pretty rad.

Endgame is out sometime in March, and marks the final expansion for Battlefield 3 — just in time for this year’s release of Battlefield 4.

looks good.

What are the chances of BF4 being less like COD and returning to the more skilled BF2 style?…zero chance is my guess.

Nothing beats quad bikes over craters though, that is a bag of fun!!! Looking forward to this. Aftermath felt a lot better as an expansion than Armoured Kill, so hopefully endgame will be of the same quality :)

Still no interest in this game.. le sigh.

Best thing I have seen all day, CTF.. my favorite game mode… with dirt bikes.
Win win and more win.

It looks amazing, really looking forward to it!

took them a while to add a gamemode thats been around for a long time….haha

GeneralHerpes.

OMFG yes, I loved DC CTF.

Can’t wait.

Looks awesome, can’t wait :D

BF3 is all icing and bugger all cake, they keep adding frills to try and make it fun, but the base game itself is missing the things that previous BF games had that made them great fun. Without a solid core extras feel like gimmicks and get old quickly.

I feel the same way, Its not the epic team work fun of BF2. Its more of a run and gun game and i feel that’s what the masses want now. With so many playing HC mode people are after easy kills instead of the higher learning curve of the BF2 days.

CTF might bring back the team work though.

After having seen the American and Russian flags, I found myself wishing there were more teams/flags to choose from, like Australian, German, South Korean, etc. Wouldn’t be too much to hope for, right? As though those two countries are the only ones we all care about.

lex,

Your recollection of BF2 sounds awfully rose-tinted.

Whilst there were organised clan servers and teamwork-oriented mods like PR, for the most part BF2 was the same stat-obsessed fragfest that BF3 is (e.g. Karkand 24/7 just became Metro 24/7). At least BF3 has decent gunplay and isn’t as riddled with exploits, if you don’t know what I mean your mind has shut out BF2′s ugly side.

BF3 provides just as much opportunity to squad up with mates and achieve ‘team objectives’. Albeit with 2 less members per squad (just make another squad) and no in-game VOIP for communicating with randoms (apparently most groups use third-party software anyway).

That said, I do agree that these expansions are fairly “gimmicky” and don’t change the core experience. Still better than straight-up map packs though.

You’ve just highlighted the problem perfectly without realizing it. BF3 lacks basic features that BF2 had, considering that there were no real advancements in gameplay (unless you consider huge slabs of walls falling down as an advancement) and BF3 was just BF2 with prettier graphics and worse maps. Adding very little, making it prettier and leaving things out that were in BF2 lead to a very disappointing experience.

At the end of the day it is all just opinion, but the fact that there are some many opinions that say that BF2 was just more fun shows this BF3 is lacking.

I remember the bad things about BF2 but its a Dice game so bugs are just part of it, BF3 has the same sort of bugs that will never get fixed.

In Bf2 the maps were bigger and better, squads were bigger and better, the commander was great when you got a good one. The players were harder to kill, you needed to learn how to aim and keep your crosshair on your target.

There’s probably is no place in the gaming world for games like that anymore, not since COD made so much money and the new generation of games got use to the run and gun, spray and prey game style. (I do hope I’m wrong though)

BC2 was more BF than BF3 was. ;)
