The news that Halo 4 would almost certainly not be coming to PC was a kick in the teeth to fans of the series, but now it looks like — just maybe — things may be set to change on the Halo/PC front in the future.
Listings pulled from the Steam Database, which are almost universally accurate indicators of future plans, indicate that not only Halo 3 but also Halo 2 and the original Halo: Combat Evolved are on their way to Valve’s service.
Also spotted in the database are listings for Fez, Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition, Shadow Warrior Complete Edition, Dyad, Quantum Conundrum 2, The Witness and Second Life.
Check out the full list of uncovered items over at NeoGAF.

“Duke Nukem + Shadow Warrior”
Yeah… I’ll wait and see if they work “out of the box” and/or if Eduke is compatible with this steam version compared to Gog’s.
Also apparently Red Dead Redemption is floating around there somewhere, comes after the interesting news of Brutal Legend making the jump. Now we just need Quantic Dream, Naughty dog and Konami to get their “console exclusive” games onto Steam and I can pretty much sell my current PS3 and write off buying a next gen one as I upgrade my entire library onto PC :D
If Halo 3 does come to PC it’ll have GFWL.
No thanks.
EDIT: OOOOH! 2 Angry Birds PC games! I wonder if they’ll be Steamworks enabled.
There’s a good chance that if Halo 3 does come to PC it WON’T have GFWL as MS have been rolling it back and using Steam instead.
Just recently Microsoft released a bunch of XBLA games in a pack and they all activate on Steam, not GFWL.
Wait what? Also, if MS is rolling GFWL back, why haven’t they patched all their previous releases that use GFWL?
EDIT: Also, would this mean that MS is finally going to kill off GFWL? What about all the previous titles from other publishers that use it? Will MS make them patch GFWL out?
Even though they might have GFWL I still want to play all the Halos on PC as they are in a similar universe to the Marathon games and made by the same company. I look forward to this
I did play Halo 1 back in 2003 and loved it single and multiplayer on PC
WHO WANTA SOME WANG?
Lmao, love Shadow Warrior.
I just want Red Dead Redemption for PC…. Pretty sure it aint gonna happen :(
Halo 1 definitely won’t have GFWL. Halo 2 may not have GFWL due to the servers being taken offline. It may migrate to Steamworks with the dedicated server files being made public (in which case I hope GON puts up some servers).
Also, I hope Halo 1 is updated to support widescreen natively. Could never get my PC copy to run in 1920×1080. :(
Same, but I doubt it ever will which is a shame.
I really don’t think halo 2 will be coming to steam.. as they are killing the servers:

boneless117,
See my previous comment as to what might happen if Halo 2 did come to Steam.
Ah the Steam database page. Always revealing those secret plans companies dont like revealing about their secret projects. Halo3s Steamapp ID was testapp something which means it was at least being tested. A solid PC release with no GFWL would be pretty popular even so long after the X360 release. I mean it cant possibly do any worse than Halo 2 on PC am I right?
Apparently the ArmA 3 Alpha is on there, too.
OMG, Halo 1,2, and 3 on PC. Dreams could come true!
Halo 3 for PC…permission to go “Squeeeeeeeeee”
as is the dayz standalone
mother of god, YES!!!! I do enjoy playing halo 4 on xbox but i would like to go back to halo 3 maybe experience the custom game lobby’s that used to happen on xbox, would love to play infection on omega journey again ^.^
Very much looking forward to the PC version of FEZ, as much as I can’t stand the developer. Halo 3, I’ll most likely get, providing it runs well. Halo CE PC was a mess when it came out, as systems then were so much better than the XBOX, but could only run it well at stupidly low settings. I never experienced Halo 2 PC, so I can’t say anything about that.
Damn beat me to it :P Fucking great game lol.
TBH, and i’ll get a lot a hate for this, but if it’s not GFWL I will not be getting them.
I have not had an issue with it.
boneless117,
Not hating, but just curious to know what you like about GFWL that it’s a deal breaker if it isn’t there. I’ve never heard of somebody not buying a game because one of these programs weren’t there before. Has there been many other games that you’ve refused to buy for the same reason?
Once again just curious.
Halo 2 PC was a lot of fun, I’d probably buy it on steam if the price is right.
hence why it would come to steam, hopefully it will support users to create their own servers etc. since MS shutdown its servers for it.
