Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey Kickstarter now open

dreamfall

Ragnar Tøornquist has made good on his promise to let us give him money, and opened a Kickstarter campaign for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey. His new team, Red Thread Games, is seeking a whopping USD $850,000, but a sof time of writing has accumulated a respectable USD $296,000 – in less than 24 hours.

Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey is the long, long awaited third edition in an almost legendary adventure series which previously spawned The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. These games are so highly revered that people are desperate to throw money at a new episode, with one backer pledging over USD $5,000 for the chance to create a custom NPC and to have their photo displayed in the Red Thread offices, and yet Tørnquist has been unable to convince anyone to publish the damn thing.

The Kickstarter page gives some juicy details as to the plot of the new episode, but if you haven’t yet tried the two previous games, I strongly encourage you to play them first if you can, as it’s full of spoilers. The second game, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, is available from GOG.com, but your best resource for getting hold of the first one is probably your fellow GONnerites, some of whom seem to know everything there is to know about getting 1999 PC games running on new rigs and probably have the original disc in a hermetically sealed wall safe.

Backed this before even reading it’s page or finished watching the video.
Been waiting for closure on this saga for quite some time :D

MuscularTeeth

brilliant series.

Excellent. Slapped it with my wallet, hope it makes it.

Awesome.

Just for the record though, the first game ‘The Longest Journey’ is also available on GOG & Steam.

I got them both of steam.
Dreamfall was rather crap though.

Over half way there already, wow. Wildman take note? XD

Maybe they should do a Shenmue 3 kickstarter.

I’m throwing my money at the screen but it’s not doing anything :(

Classic adventure games back in the day. Backed!
