Visceral and EA have revealed that Dead Space 3‘s first DLC will launch in March.
The DLC, called ‘Awakened’, will feature some of the “darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than ever before”.
Australian pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but US pricing is set at $9.99/800 MS Points, so it’s a reasonable bet we’ll get it for $15.
Dead Space 3 launches tomorrow — PC players haven’t been given early access, so we’ll get stuck into it tomorrow and get you a review as soon as we can.

The one thing I like about Origin is they have some decent servers with some decent bandwidth in some decent location… Downloaded all 3 Dead Space games in under 40 minutes so I can get cracking on #1 again when I get home and work my way through them.
“PC players haven’t been given early access”
Aside from the countless people that have been pirating and playing since yesterday.
People that illegally download the game don’t come under what they meant in their comment. But it happens with every big release now…
yeapal,
been playing since last week….. the 2nd game was much better…
As Korbain has noted, this isn’t something we would be a part of, or condone.
Oh obviously I don’t expect you guys to pirate a game nor condone the piracy of the game.
I just find it rather strange that when a big name game has been up for pirate download so far prior to launch that they don’t release copies to press/review sites.
I pre ordered the game yesterday (from a site that doesn’t charge $80), with the intent to play coop with a mate who I yesterday also found out has already pirated and played half the game.. Guess who’s no longer playing coop?
It’s the way it is with PC releases, unfortunately. Very few games (multiplatform games, anyway) end up giving reviewers PC copies ahead of launch. If you want to review a console version, it’s dead easy and you’ll get your review copy maybe even two weeks ahead of launch. But PC copies? It’s becoming increasingly rare. It’s weird, especially since you’d think digital distribution would make it EASIER for PC review codes to be handed out/controlled.
So is your mate who’s already played half the game going to now go out and pay for the game like all of those noble pirates claim they do, or is he just a scab like 99% of them really are?
