Brütal Legend has been found lurking in Steam Registry files. Although it’s not always indicative of an immediate release, almost everything sleuths uncover in there turns up as a full release sooner or later, suggesting the console exclusive may finally be making the jump to gaming rigs.
Where it is almost certain to get a better reception than it did on its original platforms, I might add. Although the pacing is a bit off, Brütal Legend isn’t the straight-forward third-person action affair its early sections might lead you to believe. Part way through it turns into a very unusual real time strategy hybrid of sorts, and while it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea it’s certainly original and well worth checking out.
Having been dropped by Activision and picked up by EA, Brütal Legend somehow went under the radar at launch, possibly because of how difficult it is to message. It was the last big-budget triple-A game from Tim Schafer’s Double Fine before the indie developer swore off traditional business models and began its Amnesia Fortnight tradition, which yielded Costume Quest, Stacking, Iron Brigade and more.

Yay I guess? Don’t see the relevance of a port this late after the release. Also unless they completely revamp the controls and gameplay it won’t translate well to PC as the RTS mechanics were designed completely around the controller.
The game was great but the pacing was definitely off, it kinda fell apart after you left the first area.
It was also poorly advertised because all the advertising implied a 3rd person action game yet it was mainly an RTS hybrid.
Yes please. Played this on Xbox and it was AWESOME!
Might just be the Metal talking :-P
I like the game but it’s not worth re releasing on PC
I loved this game right up until the RTS bits, I lost interest then. If they rejig the RTS bits to be more suited to PC controls I might give it a go again though.
I thoroughly enjoyed the RTS bits, as said it was a new take on the whole genre and a very interesting one. You’re no long some kind of deity strategist floating high above the battlefield, no you’re the field strategist. Once you wrap your brain around it it’s pretty neat.
My major issue was the obvious *oh shit we’ve run out of money we need to have this game out the door tomorrow* style ending. There was MUCH more story there, and MUCH more world to explore. Unfortunately we didn’t get to.
