Battlefield 3 shows off new ‘End Game’ screenshots of the four included maps

‘End Game’ is looking like a very, very interesting addition to the Battlefield 3 stable. With high-speed motorbike chases on offer in Capture the Flag mode as well as four new maps, it’s going to radically change the flow of play.
Now, DICE have revealed exactly what those maps are and what they’ll look like in a new blog post. Check out all the screens below (click to enlarge).
Operation: Riverside, an autumn-themed map with an electrical substation and a small river:
Nebandan Flats, a desert full of wind-power generators and a secret weapons and munitions depot hidden in an abandoned warehouse:
Kiasar Railroad, where a railway stretches across a map filled with pine trees and undulating hills:
Sabalan Pipeline, a snow-themed map traversed by an oil pipeline, with a central base:

Dammit DICE, make some maps with a vertical element to them. These look like pretty stock-standard forest/snow/desert/etcetcetc maps.
I want maps with an element of ‘cool’ to them again. Kubra Dam, Omaha Beach, etc.
Can’t wait, all the map packs have been very high quality and easily worth the price of admission.

I have owned and thoroughly enjoyed ALL BF games (the great and even the average) however I just could never get into BF3, I cant put my finger on what the issue is for me but it was just a rather large disappointment for me.
Having said that, since they released BF1942 again I have already clocked up 200% more time on that over BF3. Maybe its because you cant shoot someone from across the map, or dominate a flag from under a clump of grass.
100% agree, they should bring back a few of those Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 maps, and naval combat from 1942

Why are devs flatlining maps? As hectic as they get these days in a vertical sense is, say, Black Ops 2 where it’s two storey buildings and ramps.

I think it’s something to do with saturation. Back with BF2, there was no competitor apart from CoD 4 and both just continued to dominate the competition. Probably a large part of BF2′s hold over me was the ranking and badge elements, because back then your rank meant something more than just the hours you’d put in!
These days, there’s just so much more to play that is of such a high quality that spending several thousand hours in BF3 would just be wasted time (apologies to the 12 and a half million 100-rank Colonels).
The screenshots look like they’ve taken the old maps and modified them slightly.
Screen1 looks like Caspian Border.
Screen2 looks like Bandar Desert.
Screen3 looks like Alboroz (sp?) Mountains.
Screen4 looks like Operation Firestorm.
Looks awesome. Pity it still plays like shite.
Gone back to BC2, much more consistent game play.
These ALL look like reskinned versions of operation firestorm…
i must be out of the loop……you have to pay for maps now?
yeah ‘air superiority’….3 x jets, 1 x helis each side…..similar to ‘tank superiority’…3 x tanks on each side…yeah thats a real tank battle you cheap b@stards. Open it up so someone can mod a REAL tank battle…30 tanks on each side ala El Alamein in the old DC days.

Why was the B17 always upside down? It’s a conspiracy of some sort, I’m sure. Miss BF1942 so much. Such an awesome game.

Looks pretty good. Can’t wait to play some CTF.
Still don’t know why so many people whinge about the DLC every damn time. For $50 I’ve got 12 new maps, 4 new game types, a bunch of new weapons and vehicles, and I’ve been playing this game pretty solidly for over a year. I feel I’ve got my moneys worth.
DLC isn’t a new thing. They just changed the name from expansion pack to DLC and split it up into smaller chunks. And I have no problem with that. Provided the content is decent. And it’s been pretty damn good each time with BF3.
BC2 didn’t have any paid DLC for PC and we got I think 3 new maps and that was it, nothing more.
they need to stop pretending its TOO HARD to make maps/mods for BF3. if they released a mod kit for it im sure people would be making their own maps an addons in no time. instead of claming people are too stupid to work out how to do it and then sell sub par DLC
custom maps and mods is what made the BF franchise what it is today and now they piss in our face.
i dont mind BF3. i still find it fun to play when i have the time. i just dont read too much into it
