A demo with a difference for Kentucky Route Zero

Limits and Demonstrations 580x300

By on February 13, 2013 at 6:23 am

Demos are so common these days that we more or less take them for granted. Leave it then to the creator of beguiling indie darling Kentucky Route Zero to subvert our expectations of the concept. Like most demos, Limits and Demonstrations is a free sample of the kind of things we can expect to experience in the finished product. Unlike most demos, it features characters and scenarios not yet seen in the main game.

Kentucky Route Zero is point-and-click adventure game, but as noted by its creator, this stylish mood piece is concerned with “characterisation, atmosphere and storytelling rather than clever puzzles or challenges of skill.” It is also the latest game to go down the episodic path celebrated by fans of The Walking Dead and pilloried by fans of Half-Life. The first episode was released in January.

Limits and Demonstrations is available for download from the game’s official site.
