11Bit Studios teases completely secret game, asks you to pre-order

Indie developers 11Bit Studios have posted a teaser for a completely secret game, showing only a few brief seconds of cutscene with no hint of what the game is at all, what it’s called, or even what genre it’s in. And to make things more interesting, they’re asking people to put money down now in good faith — saying that when they reveal what the project is on February 28, the price will go up. Will you be one of “those brave souls who are willing to jump into the abyss with us and take a chance on a mystery”? For $7.50?

Or will you wait to see what the game is about and pay $14.99 instead? These are your choices — learn more at their page.

Give me a genre and I might of pre-ordered.

Same as above, you really can’t just drop something like that with little to no info and expect pre-orders.

Maybe hardcore 11bit fans would but… yeah no.

Sorry, still got the bitter Aliens Colonial Marines pre-order taste in my mouth.

ralphwiggum,

Ditto for Omerta. Pre-orders are bad enough when you know the genre etc.

Who the hell are 11bit games?
Maybe when they’ve been around more than two years and have a solid collection of good games against their name, then they can ask for blind pre orders.

11bit studios even. See how quickly I forgot their name.

PS: Just noticed there’s now an edit function so I didn’t need to post again. Still no way to delete posts though?

Yeah pretty much what everybody else is saying. Not one shred of information other than a tiny clip that shows nothing at all of interest. So this is what companies are trying to get preorders on these days? <_<

This seems to be approaching a form of gambling and in some cases it would be underage gambling?

Couldn’t you see that one coming?

caitsith01,

Considering Gearbox was touted as the developer, it wasn’t exactly easy to see coming..

It’s like a vapourware kickstarter! Awesome!
