TERA heading free-to-play in February worldwide, to keep optional premium subs

TERA

TERA, the game of real-time MMO combat and horrifically infeasible female clothing, has announced that the rest of the world can soon join the US and Korea in playing the game for free, come February.

Previous subscribers will become known as ‘Founders’, even if they were active at the time of the switch or not. Founders will retain access to their full 8 character slots and their amount of bank tabs, an exclusive Terminus mount, and have an in-game title. Meanwhile, free players will have full access to the game but have their character slots and bank tabs restricted.

The subscription will now be known as ‘Elite status’, and is described as “a purchase that offers 30 days of extra dungeon rewards, 10 bonus daily quests, a daily delivery of items and boosts, an elite mount, in-game store discounts, reduced brokerage fees, and more”.

According to the official page, the upcoming F2P update will bring new content such as the Crucible of Flame where you can test your mettle against Cyclops and other giant bosses, as well as 3v3 PVP in Champion’s Skyring.
