SMITE launches open beta, get your mythological MOBA fix for free

One thing DOTA and LoL and even Heroes of Newerth have in common is that they don’t allow you to play Zeus and punch Thor in the face. What an oversight! Thankfully Hi-Rez Studios, who you may remember as the makers of Tribes: Ascend, have made SMITE: a mythology-themed MOBA that has just announced its first competitive season with a $100,000 prize. Take a look at the video below, or hit up the official site to download the client for yourself.

My thoughts exactly,my brother and I try our best to enjoy a game we can clearly see can be loads of fun; but the lag just gets in the way every time, it’s worse than many other games that I play which are connected to American servers.

I’d be all over this if we had more reasonable ping.

To be fair you can play as zues in Dota…

yea upon downloading latency makes it unplayable this game is not at all lag friendly
