SimCity’s intro movie is beautiful in its SIMpliCITY (geddit)

SimCity

While SimCity continues to look amazing, the following trailer does not show us much that we don’t already know. It remains beautiful and clever and nice to look at and will it go to prom with me, but it just doesn’t tell us anything new. Perhaps it’s that air of mystery that attracts us so. No, wait, it’s that it’s SimCity and that it looks rad. Check it out below.

We recently went hands-on with SimCityclick here to see how it’s shaping up.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Never really got into city builders until Cities XL. SUPER excited for Sim City 5, it looks boobs-out amazing.

I’m assuming the art-style is intended to look cartoonish? Possibly it’s just not my thing, I like some token gestures towards realism. I’m currently playing Anno 2070, and god-damn is that a gorgeous game. It looks far better than Simcity and it’s a 4 year old engine. Doesn’t have a day/night cycle though, which would be nice.

Agree, hope that someone will come out with a realism mod soon after release.

i am going to eat that shit up once its released!

mrthumpy,

Anno is damn nice looking for sure. I really hope this version of SimCity at least has higher quality textures then what I’ve seen in the videos.
